JP + Atira’s Intimate Brooklyn Wedding was so love and joy-filled, and it’s still one of my favorite days a year later.
Getting to photograph JP & Atira’s wedding was a special experience for me, beyond even the “normal” magic of getting to be a part of someone’s wedding day. You see, JP & Atira have been friends of mine since college, and I have loved getting to see their relationship grow over the years. I had the honor of photographing JP for my senior art project, capturing JP’s proposal, taking their engagement photos, and finally — photographing their intimate Brooklyn wedding. JP and Atira are two of the most intentional and joy-filled people I know. They are deep feeling, hard working, and have the most infectious smiles (just wait till you see them in these photos!). As a natural result of who they are as people, their wedding day was intentional and precious. Atira grew up in Brooklyn, and they were beyond thrilled when they found their dream Brooklyn venue. A gorgeous historic home filled with antique details and elegant furniture, which made for the perfect intimate Brooklyn wedding.
The blue skies, sunshine, and warm weather ushered in the perfect June day in the summer of 2022. JP got ready with his friends, brothers, and Dad in an airbnb in Brooklyn, while Atira got ready with friends and family at their apartment. Atira’s iconic gold statement earrings, floral headband, and wrap-around pearl heels paired perfectly with JP’s eye-catching purple suit. I loved witnessing their closest people gather around to prepare them for a day filled with anticipation, celebration, and remembrance. After a giddy first-look, we all journeyed to their venue for a personalized ceremony performed by their pastor, a delicious meal, and bursts of joyful dancing. Oh, and cake-time, which was baked and decorated by my husband, Pasha. hehe 🙂 JP & Atira, I will be cheering for your love always! Thank you for sharing your momentous days with me. ♡
